Second Attempt at Master Cleanser

Okay, so this is the second time around with the Master Cleanser. I failed to stick to it a couple of weeks ago so now I'm back on it. This time I'm determined to stay on it until I get down to the weight I want to be. Then I'll try to maintain it. I suppose I have to hit my goal weight and keep it there by the time I hit 40. Forty! Yeesh! To be honest I don't really feel it. I still feel a fresh 30 years old. I suppose not having kids really makes a difference. I used to think I didn't want kids but I don't know. I think it's just my body telling me that I missed out on something. After all I never really had the opportunity to meet someone who would want to settle down and have a family with me. Hmm. Well, no serious updates on the cleansing process this time. I'm only on day two so I'll see how goes it by the end of the week. I've lost about a pound and 1/2 of water weight so far. My real total goal from this point. 40lbs. Forty pounds seems to be the magic number.

So Cute!

Found this on line this morning.  So cute... now only if my iPod didn't die on me.  Oh well.

Red Sky

This is what the sky looked like when I was on my way to work this morning. I thought it was so cool. Red sky, blood was spilled... I'm such a geek. Geez.

Shades

I found these at work in a drawer somewhere. Aren't they just fahhh-bulous? Emmanuelle Khanh... I know high fashion when I sees it. Uh huh...

Sweeping Bag

Mom prepares for her trip to Guatemala. As some of you know my mom has elected to go on a trip to Guatemala to help the poor there. My Aunt Amel is an o.r. nurse and she goes every year with a group of plastic surgeons to assist in operating on children born with facial deformities. It's such an incredibly noble cause. This year they have an ophthalmologist going and since Mom is an optometrist I think she could help him a lot by saving him time in doing the basic refraction so he can concentrate on surgery. This is her little sleeping bag for her trip. According to what the literature says there won't be many modern facilities so she'll have to rough it. Although as a little reward they will be stopping in Antigua for a night. Nice!

I'm excited for her. I've given her my old digital camera so she can document her trip. hopefully I can convince her to blog it when she gets home.

Master Cleanser

Okay, the second time around for the master cleanser is much better than the first time.  Today is actually day two and I'm not as tired as I thought I would be.  I'm already looking forward to the end of the cleanse.  Lol.  I guess there's not much to report this time around on a daily basis.  I suppose if there are any changes I will post it, otherwise I don't think there would be much to say this time around.  Although I do have to say I've lost 4lbs already.  Of course we all know this is water weight and maybe this time I'll be able to keep the weight off.

The first time around I wanted to lose the weight because I was going to hit all those restaurants during the holiday season.  This time it must be permanent.  I have a few months until the summer so I've calculated how much I want to lose between now and then.  Hopefully I will be able to have the will power to stick to my goal.  Further updates to come!

I love graphic t's.

I don't care what Stacy & Clinton say. I love my graphic t's!

Master Cleanser Part Deux

Okay, time for the second round of the Master Cleanser. I have to say as much as I ate during this holiday season I really didn't gain all that much back after the first cleansing. That being said I'm not as reluctant to do it this second time around. I hope the fact that I've got a cold doesn't affect the cleaning process. I'll keep y'all up to date.

Burnt Pork

The skin side of the burnt pork.

Other side of the burnt pork.

Okay, I guess I should just stay out of the kitchen.  So now I have this paper dry piece of pork butt.  Not even a drop of sauce left in the pan to flavor it.  Yuck.

Happy New Year!

You can never have too many good luck New Year oranges.

Skrimps

Shrimp gumbo, shrimp scampi, shrimp sandwiches, shrimp ke-babs.... That's about it.

Shitake Mushrooms

Hmm, I wonder what he's making with these. Boy they're kind of big.

Fried Chicken

Papa Yao is makin' fried chicken. Yum!

Pulled Pork

Here it is bakin' in the oven. I can smell it already. Can't wait for dinner!

Pulled Pork

Here are the spices for the pulled pork. I didn't add the salt like PY suggested. I'll see how it comes out. I also bought a butt with the skin on. Let's see how that comes out.

Pulled Pork

Here's my pork butt... My pork butt I say. Not my porky butt. Hehe. My porky butt wouldn't fit, I would need a wide angle lens for that one. Lmao!

Bann

Dinner with Michelle and her son Lamene at Bann. A Korean fusion restaurant near my gym that I haven't gone to in months. Ahem, but that's for another blog. The food was quite good and the portions are large considering the portions in most of the restaurants these days. I had a good time. It's nice to get out once in a while.

Michelle & Lamene

(Holy shmoly, he was only 6 when I started working there! *sigh*)

Michelle had the flash fried calamari & assorted vegetables sauteed in a spicey honey chilli glaze.
My appetizer. Minced sea scallops with Korean pine mushrooms baked in a shrimp mousse.

Lamene had the slowly roasted baby pork ribs with a soy & chili glaze served over green tea crostini.

Michelle and I both ordered the same entree. Red snapper in rice paper braised in a spicey black bean sauce with soy beans, ginkgo and bamboo shoots.

Lamene's entree. Chicken breast stuffed with Korean chestnuts, dates & couscous braised in a sweet & spicey sauce.

Lamene's dessert was a traditional hot chocolate cake. Individually molded rich dark chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.

Michelle had the Yellow Mung Bean Cups. Organic mungbean custard baked in a toasted pistachio crust.

And of course I got the most fattening thing on the dessert menu. Creme brulee. I had a selection of three different flavours. Strawberry, pumpkin, and my favorate the ginger. (Grace I know you would've loved that one!)

Don't forget the tea to get those digestive juices working... We ordered a simple green tea.

I had a splendid time as well as my dinner companions. I love going out to dinner. Time for another master cleanse session!

Red Velvet Cupcake

Starbucks had red velvet cupcakes! Not as good as the PY ones but it will have to do until I go to SF again. Lol.
