Starbucks Dog of The Week

So this weekend there are not a lot of dogs around. Most Upper East Siders leave the city once a holiday weekend rolls around. I saw a couple way way across the street but none close enough to take a picture. Maybe one will come along soon.

Puppy

Since my blogs have been lacking of late my luck has turns around with the doggie pics. I saw this little guy on the way to work this morning. He was so cute I had to stop to pet him.

Foreign Flick of the Week

Okay, so I'm going to try this in addition to the Starbucks Dog of the Week since that doesn't always happen...  I think with the dog pics I'm going to be more aggressive and as the owners if I could take a pic of their dogs for my blog.  Not sure how receptive these Upper East Siders will be, I guess there's only one way to find out.

In the meantime, I watched this film staring Penelope Cruz this weekend.  I didn't like her when she first hit the big screens but for some strange reason she's grown on me.  She's one of those women that the more you look at her the more attractive she gets.  I have to say that I enjoy her Spanish speaking language films better, maybe because I like foreign and/or independent films better to begin with.  Okay, enough babbling.  Enjoy!

Description:  Heaven has sent its best, and the devil has enlisted his worse - Victoria Abril and Penelope Cruz co-star as agents doing battle for ultimate supremacy.  The winner is to be decided by whomever can secure the soul of a short-tempered, punch-drunk boxer on Earth.  These sexy angels pull no punches, using their brains, wiles and of course, sex appeal.  Damnation has never been this seductive, and seduction more heavenly.

Hello Kitty Briefs

Haha, OMG too funny!

Living in Hello Kitty Hell ensures that there are plenty of mentally traumatic experiences that have to be survived on a regular basis. That being said, some of these are much more traumatic than others. The existence of Hello Kitty low rise underwear for men was one such instance and became even more traumatic when a variety of themed Hello Kitty underwear showed up at our door.

Now most people would see the above as proof that the evil feline had finally reached her limits. Of course, they would be wrong. Hello Kitty is always able to make something that one would assume could never get worse, oh so much more so. The Hello Kitty men’s skimpy briefs are further proof of this:

hello kitty manties

hello kitty manties blue

hello kitty manties white

According to their product description, these Hello Kitty men’s briefs are the following (their wording):

Low rise men’s briefs underwear. So sexy, so lovely, so cute! Make you so Shining!

I don’t even want to think what will happen when my wife sees that these are available because it will surely mean moving to further depths of Hello Kitty Hell…

Left in the comments by Clint Catalyst who should be forced to wear these every day for the rest of his life as punishment for ever thinking that letting me know about these could possibly result in anything positive.

Nail Cap hides nails under cute cover

Hey this is a cool idea....

This has to be the most simple way to decoratively hang things in your home. With this you can stick with your ordinary nails, it just manages to hide the nail underneath a cute little cap. The best part is that this can be used time and time again in all different areas, unlike the decorative hooks you’d normally pick up at the store. Hooks will eventually wear out and become difficult to screw into the wall.

These are at the very least the most happy hooks I’ve ever come across. They are featured in all sorts of colors. You can use them for anything from hanging your car keys or as a quick way to keep hats and sweaters off of the floor. Sadly these are just a design from Jung-Woo Lee for Ek Design. Even if it is just a design right now though, it’d be perfect for a seller like Perpetual Kid.

Mashi Maro Oh Oh

I washed my Mashi Maro doll today because he fell on the floor of the car and got all dirty. I think his body got a little distorted in the washing and drying process... Oops. At least he smells good and is now soft and fluffy.

Phone for the elderly has SOS function

I think my folks would be offended if I got them a big button cell phone.... hee hee.

Alright so this does look highly similar to the joke remote controls that you give anyone turning 40 or 50, but this does have a lot of useful qualities. When you’re half blind, you might want a cellphone that allows for you to read the numbers easily. If an elderly person normally has to whip out the reading glasses to read the numbers, then this would save them the hassle. Plus there is also an added function for those emergency situations.

Should the elderly person fall and need help, instead of dialing 911 they can press the SOS button. Ahead of time they can set the emergency number to call in case the SOS button is ever pushed. It can call or text up to 4 numbers. Then after it’s pushed it will begin making a loud warning sound. Plus it also has a flashlight and an FM radio. You can purchase one of these for $70 through Shopkami.

Anti-Peep USB Webcam

This is so cute!

The creepy thing about webcams is visiting someone’s house and attempting to make sure their webcam light isn’t on. After all they could be attempting to catch a prank on camera or if you’re there with a prospective partner they could be attempting to record other actions. With this Anti-Peep cam, everyone will know when your cam isn’t in use and give them the confidence to relax. It’s a good way for the usual person to let everyone know that they’re not a creep or notorious prankster.

This Chinese camera will automatically cover up its own eyes whenever you’re finished with your video session. Then when you want to begin again the hands will lower, so you don’t have to worry about doing it manually. Of course should you need to, you can move the arms manually without harming the mechanics of the webcam. Since this is from the Chineses gadget seller, Gsou, this might be hard to get your hands on outside of China.

Paw Plunger keeps floors clean

Hmm, not sure how well this would sell but Lassie here in this picture doesn't seem to mind getting his muddy paw cleaned.

Alright dogs need to go outside to do their business, even on exceptionally rainy days. Then when they go trapsing through the house they leave their muddy footprints all over the floor. Now with kids you can bellow out for them to wipe off their feet, making it so you don’t have to mop every 2 minutes. Sadly yelling that out to the dog usually just makes them drop their head and leave the footprints a little slower than normal. This Paw Plunger may look silly, but at least it keeps your carpets clean.

On the inside it has soft bristles, then you just slowly move their paws up and down within the plunger. That is after you fill it up with some warm water. The bristles will knock off all of that dirt and the water cleans off any excess dirt. You can also apparently use it to do medicinal soaks and to melt the ice balls that attach themselves to your dog’s paws. You can purchase it for $34.99 through Improvements.

Volkswagen rolls out foldable 'Bik.e' electric bicycle concept

Well, it looks like it's the season for automakers to show off electric bicycle concepts, with Volkswagen now following Lexus' lead with its own 'Bik.e' concept. Unlike Lexus' hybrid concept, this one is a full-fledged electric bicycle (sans pedals), and it boasts a few innovations of its own, not the least of which is that it's able to fold up and fit where you'd normally store a spare tire. It's also apparently able to be charged using your car's DC current in a pinch in addition to a standard AC outlet at home, and it promises to deliver a range of 20 kilometers on a full charge, along with a top speed of 20 kilometers per hour. What's more, it seems like Volkswagen is actually looking at commercial possibilities for the Bik.e, although it's not making any firm commitments just yet. Head on past the break for a quick look at the bike in action, and some dancing.

Puppet Pouch puts fur on your DS / DSi, smiles on people's faces

Okay, I don't know how to feel about this.... looks weird if you ask me.

As jaded as we are, we just can't bring ourselves to criticize this. Produced by CTA Digital, authors of other questionable gaming accessories, the Puppet Pouch acts as a superfurry (and annoyingly cute) case for your Nintendo portable console. Coming with a felt interior and elastic straps to keep your Ninty nice and minty, it also offers a zipped compartment for storing games and accessories, as well as 'puppet functionality.' That last bit means you can shove your hand inside it and use the little fella as part of your awesome ventriloquist act. Priced at $19.99, it's available now, but we've just got one oustanding question -- what animal is this supposed to be?

Zbit Mini R/C Robots

These are cool, now only if I had a desk to run one of these on.....

Check out the Zbit Mini R/C Robots from ThinkGeek – these are tiny pocket dynamos that will definitely spruce up a boring day at the office as they zoom around at breakneck speed, spin 360 degrees, and even light up and make robot noises. All of them operate on different frequencies, so you won’t see any controlling error occur when you’re having fun with your friends. You can choose from Vintage Tech 1, Vintage Tech 2, Urban Tech 1 and Urban Tech 2 models for $14.99 a pop.

Star Wars AT-AT model

Oh, So cool. I want! I want!

Not really, what in the world would I do with this? It will collect dust, but if I were another person in another life I would definitely put this on my wish list. Ha!

Sci-fi movies are extremely fun to watch, considering they tend to tickle the imagination with stuff that aren’t available (mostly anyways) in the real world. Star Wars has done a whole lot to capture our imagination over the last few decades, and among the more impressive vehicles within would be the AT-AT walker which was a staple land-based attack vehicle used by the Empire. This Star Wars AT-AT model is fully painted and detailed right out of the box – all you need to do is to make sure you can follow the assembly instructions within, and good news since there is no glue to worry about as everything snaps together into place. You can pick up the Star Wars AT-AT model for $49.99.

Post-It Assualt Rifle: Not as cool as you might think

Perfect for the geek in your office...

I think what you are seeing here is a dream of any disgruntled office worker: a gun that can shoot Post-its.

I hope you aren’t too upset when I tell you that this is merely a concept, and I’m guessing that the gun in the photo is nothing more than some sort of mock-up.

So you can forget about your dreams of shooting post-its until you have covered up a man. (Think about the poster for Office Space if you need a visual aid.)

This is what the designer Alex Marshall does want to do with it:

This concept would contain an air reservoir which could be either battery or mechanically powered and a mechanical arm to push the post-it from the magazine… I did some basic testing and found that it would require a significant amount of air without this arm separating it from the post-it stack so this justifies the arm.

I believe this would shoot rolled up Post-its, really. Nothing that you could really write on, maybe.

I guess I just have a dream of stalking people with a gun that would allow any message I want to be stuck to them. Of course, I would have to write those messages in advance, wouldn’t I?

Yeah, this Post-it gun is just not as cool as I wanted it to be.
